Statement
My work is a reflection of the emotions, feelings, and thoughts derived from my experiences in life. As someone who is more reserved, I am free to be more expressive of what I’m feeling through my work. Drawing has allowed me to translate those emotions and feelings when I cannot communicate them otherwise.
A level of care is present in every piece of work I create, as I strive for perfection. However, perfection is a temporary state that only lasts for a fleeting moment before it eventually fades. Instead, the process of each piece is a journey in search of a happy ending. I find happiness in each meaningful work that I finish.
Since shifting the approach of my work from traditional to digital, the subject matter of my work has been focused on three-dimensional geometrical shapes. This year, I wanted to step back and redirect my focus to drawing foliage and plants. I believe that exploring different subject matters of interest is important because it presents new challenges for me to solve, allowing me to grow as an artist.
